Production Manager

SHIFT: MONDAY-FRIDAY 5 AM-2:30 PM

Our ideal candidate is searching for a long-term career opportunity with a passionate and growing company.
The Production Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising all production operations at Uncle Harry’s factory in Redmond WA to accurately manufacture our high-quality personal care products.
Key responsibilities:
Learn all production processes including calculating, weighing, mixing, blending, processing, filling, labeling, and/or sealing all ingredients, WIPs, and finished goods
Learn to operate all machinery including manufacturing equipment and electric forklift
Prepare for a successful day each morning prior to production personnel arriving
Coordinate raw materials, machinery, and production areas to meet manufacturing needs
Assign and supervise production team members to complete daily production schedule
Ensure all products are manufactured to company quality specifications
Complete daily paperwork including safety and sanitation logs, batch forms, and quality control checklists
Send daily reports of production output, equipment and factory conditions, and personnel updates
Assist manufacturing team when needed to complete daily tasks
Motivate, mentor, and support production team to promote positive work culture and encourage good attendance
Monitor equipment performance and perform machine maintenance
Oversee training of new employees
Maintain factory cleanliness and organization to GMP food processing standards
Maintain compliance with WSDA, USDA Organic, and FDA regulations
Maintain compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations
Support and maintain company safety guidelines
Communicate with HR to monitor and/or mediate personnel issues and identify and/or implement performance improvement
Long term position responsibilities:
Utilize sales and production software to understand company demand and create daily production schedules
Develop manufacturing and labor efficiencies via incremental improvement to reduce costs and meet demand
Support growth of production team via hiring and restructuring with end of year goal of increasing production output by 50%
Collaborate with fellow management to set company goals and plan for operational achievement
Key qualifications: We are looking for a person with excellent attendance who is friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, and focused on execution of top level responsibilities
Prior experience in manufacturing and management required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company guidelines, manufacturing SOPs, training standards, sales reports, inventory measures, and governmental regulations
Ability to lead and coach supervisees to achieve company goals
Ability to stand for long periods of time in a warehouse environment. Physical tasks required to perform core duties of job include lifting up to 60 pounds, standing, walking, squatting, pushing, twisting, using hands for repetitive tasks, reaching with arms, climbing ladders, tasting, smelling, hearing, and talking.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 5 am – 2:30 pm
Hours: Approximately 45 hours/week
Salary: $32/hr with performance-based bonuses and a guaranteed holiday bonus. Approximately $62,000 to $78,000 annually.
Paid time off: Competitive paid time off accrual based on hours worked. 8 paid holidays per year. Additional paid days off may occur due to incremental weather or for a staff rest day.

Production Assistant

SHIFT: MONDAY-FRIDAY 6 AM-2:30 PM
The Production Assistant helps fill, package, and prepare our handcrafted products for shipment.
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
• Filling: Weighing and filling products into retail packaging by hand or with equipment
• Labeling: Applying labels to bottles, bags, boxes, and jars by hand or with equipment
• Verifying: Filling out relevant batch documents, double checking all work, QCing final product
• Cleaning: Maintaining a tidy workstation throughout the day, cleaning the production area at the end of the shift
All work is completed in a standard warehouse environment, so being able to stand for at least 8 hours a day, lift up to 40 pounds, and sustain repetitive movement of arms is important. Our production team is fast-paced yet fun, often working together in teams but also getting tasks done on their own.

Order Pick/Packer

SHIFT: MONDAY-THURSDAY 6 AM-4:30 PM
The Order Picker/Packer (Shipping Assistant) is an energetic and detail oriented person. Responsibilities include picking, checking, and packing orders in our distribution center.
Shipping Associate Duties:
- Help uphold all company policies and procedures
- Follow and uphold all safety rules and regulations
- Always wear required personal protective equipment
- Maintain open communication with manager and lead on duty
- Picking Orders - Assemble orders using a sales order detailing items and quantities
- Checking Orders - Verify that each order is correct by individually checking item numbers and amounts against the sales order
- Packing Orders - Use the proper amount of packing materials to prevent breakage or damage to products during transport
- Restocking - Refill stock and packing materials as needed
- General Cleanup - Sweep, Take garbage and recycling out, Wipe down counters, Organize work area, etc
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to stay focused and work at a steady space
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Must be able to stand and walk on concrete for up to 8 hours a day
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Team player with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Accuracy in all phases of the shipping process
- Be at work every day, on time, ready to go
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record
