Self-Healing and Detoxification

The wisdom of healing can be summed up in the proverb, “An ounce of prevention is worth tons of cure.” Along with freedom of choice, pertinent information should be available to help people make the right choices for their health and welfare.

Ordinary folks need access to common sense knowledge by which they can protect from unwanted illnesses. The following positive information for good health will help one avoid unnecessary suffering, anxiety and pain. Expensive and catastrophic medical treatments often entail specific violence on the body to reverse years of self-inflicted poisoning due to ignorance. It is more judicious to have the basic knowledge by which one does not unknowingly poison oneself and then resort to taking other poisons to be healed.

Causes of Sickness

There are two aspects of maintaining health. Avoid everything that may compromise health and accept those things that promote health.

The ingestion or absorption of toxic substances into the body will compromise health. Many ingredients in food, body care and household cleaning products are toxic at higher doses. Most persons do not have knowledge of these facts. These same substances at lower doses may not be immediately toxic, yet there is a gradual, cumulative build up that has long term consequences for health.

Increase of toxins in the body compromises the immune system, leaves deposits that accumulate, causes swelling and blockages of blood flow and ultimately blocks oxygen to vital parts of the body.

One may live without food for four to five weeks or water for four to seven days before they die. But, if one is deprived of oxygen for even a few minutes it can cause instant death. Oxygen is the most important “food” of the body. Circulation of oxygen throughout the body maintains life and health. The lack of oxygen to any part of the body will result in sickness and eventually death. Lack of oxygen to the brain will lead to a stroke. A heart attack happens because of lack of oxygen to the heart. Cancer grows and thrives in that part of the body where the flow of oxygen is hindered.

A priest named Sebastian Kniepp was a natural healer. He explained in simple language the three curative properties of water: dissolving, evacuating (washing off) and strengthening. He developed the water-cure, by which various applications of water tend to remove the root causes of disease.

Water enables the following:

  • It dissolves the morbid matter in the blood.
  • Evacuates what is dissolved.
  • It makes the cleansed blood circulate rightly again.
  • It boosts the weakened immune system.

Using the ideas of Father Kniepp, I have evolved a simple healing protocol that can be followed at home. There are four steps to self-healing and detoxification.

  • Stimulate the body to improve blood flow and oxygen
  • Eliminate toxins
  • Nourish the body with high quality food and drinks
  • Exercise regularly and practice deep relaxation and calm.

Medicinal bathing techniques by which water is used at different temperatures supports the four steps to self-healing. (See UH’s Detox Bath pamphlet to learn some of these techniques.)

There are three main causes of sickness: excess of eating or overindulgence in a bad habit, lack of cleanliness that results in accumulation of toxins in the body, and anxiety.

The following “Home Spa” techniques will support your attempts to heal or prevent sickness.

Stimulation

Increasing the intake of good quality oxygen, improving heartbeat and the circulation of blood is the goal of stimulation. This can be done effectively by walking one to three hours a day in wooded areas and, for some part, uphill so as to increase the intake of breath by filling the lungs more completely.

Do simple exercises and yoga accompanied by deep breathing exercises performed regularly in the morning and evening for a half hour.

Take baths that begin with UH’s Salt Glow for full body exfoliation followed by UH’s Detox Bath with the addition of UH’s Aromatherapy Synergy Blend for Improved Blood Circulation.

Alternately, one can do UH’s Foot Soak followed by UH’s Stimulating Massage oil which will help to activate the body and improve circulation.

Internally, one can take the traditional Ayurvedic herbal compound, UH’s Organic Trikatu, which is made of the dried powders of ginger, black pepper, and Indian long pepper. It is an excellent stimulant for blood circulation and digestion. I recommend three capsules a day.

An effective way to maintain a clean and balanced internal body chemistry is to make a quart of fresh lemonade with a teaspoon or two of UH’s Camu Camu (vitamin C rich fruit powder from South America). Sip this drink throughout the day. Squeeze two lemons or limes into a quart of fresh water. Add the Camu Camu and a pinch of UH’s Unrefined Sea Salt and Sea Veggies.

Elimination

Water is the main element that comprises over 70% of the body weight. It is important to drink a half gallon or more of quality liquids a day (water, fresh juice and vegetable juices). UH’s Egg Vessel will be an essential aid to drinking biologically live water that will naturally cleanse and oxygenate the body. The seven ideal conditions of an underwater aquifer will take place inside the Egg Vessel: coolness, darkness, vortex movement of the water, oxygenation, minerals (by addition of UH’s Alkalizer Ionic Minerals, soil elements (Fulvic acid in the Ionic Minerals), channeling of the earth’s energies (due to the egg shape and the terra cotta earth of the vessel).

Take the Ayurvedic herbal blend call UH’s Triphala every night for one month. It will gently clean the entire digestive tract, liver and blood.

Medicinal bathing every night in the bathtub with intermittent hot and cold water and sweating is essential for detoxification. See UH’s Detox Bath pamphlet to learn how to use your bathtub as a sauna for free. Learn this technique and you will sweat profusely without buying an expensive sauna. Use UH’s Detox Bath powder for the bathtub soak.

Application of clay packs (UH’s Bentonite Clay or Red Clay) and aromatherapy wraps with pure essential oils (UH’s Synergy Blend for Blood Purification).

Self massage or have a friend give you a massage with UH’s Massage Oil for Stimulation.

Take UH’s Indian Herbal Capsules that will purify blood and boost the immune system.

Go on one day liquid fast by drinking only fresh juices and eating watery vegetable soups.

Nutrition

Detoxifying foods eaten regularly will improve the quality of the blood and cleanse the system of morbid matter. The prominent detoxifying foods are all green leafy vegetables like mustards, collards, cilantro, parsley, spinach, dandelions, nettles, turnip greens and roots, artichokes, asparagus, beets, cabbage, carrots, celery, ginger, and turmeric.

The following are a list of powerful natural foods that help maintain strength and immunity: probiotic bacteria, fresh sprouts (five day growth), seaweeds, bee pollen, raw honey, molasses, wheat grass, raw sauerkraut, fresh lemon juice, unrefined sea salt, chia seeds.

Alkaline vegetable soup is a tasty way to eat healthy foods for health.

Here is a simple recipe.

Bring a quart of water to boil. Then lower the heat to a slow rolling boil and add:

Organic Barley flakes - ¼ cup
Two carrots diced
Two potatoes with the skins left on diced
Two stalks of celery diced
Fresh grated ginger to taste
Fresh grated turmeric or turmeric powder (half teaspoon)
UH’s Asafoetida

Let cook at a slow simmer with a lid on the pot for one to three hours depending on how high the heat is. When all the vegetables are tender add:

Fresh parsley cut fine (half bunch)
Olive oil to taste
UH’s Sea Salt and Sea Veggies
Fresh lemon juice to taste

This a tasty, alkaline soup for good health.

The following simple dietary rules will help maintain maximum health.

Three preliminary suggestions:

  • 50/50 principle - every meal can be 50% raw and 50% cooked
  • Don’t snack between meals and give yourself at least four hours to digest
  • Don’t mix proteins, carbohydrates and sugars at the same meal
An example of a carbohydrate meal follows.

Organic brown rice (millet or quinoa), cooked vegetables, large salad (baby spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, grated daikon radish, grated cabbage, grated carrots, tomatoes, celery, parsley or cilantro, fresh lemon, olive oil, UH’s Unrefined Sea Salt and Sea Veggies, UH’s Asafoetida), baked potato or sweet potato.

Protein meal

Lentil or bean soup, cooked vegetables, large salad as above, yogurt or tofu.

Avoid cold cereals for breakfast. Try to have a fruit and fruit juice breakfast. If you need a more substantial breakfast, eat oatmeal cooked in water with added fruits, nuts, cinnamon, honey or molasses.

Avoid sugar and regular sea salt. Use UH’s Organic Molasses, UH’s Unrefined Sea Salt and Sea Veggies, UH’s Pure Raw Honey, UH’s Organic Spices.

Drink at least two glasses of fresh juices that you make yourself such as carrot, celery, apple, grape, seasonal berries, grapefruit, orange, lemon or any mixtures of the above.

Drink two or more cups of herb tea. A good herbal tea is UH’s Berry Infusion or UH’s Cold and Immune Tea with added fresh lemon juice and UH’s Raw Honey.

Include fresh grown sprouts as a regular part of your diet. Use UH’s Easy Sprouter to grow a variety of UH’s Sprout Mixes. Grow you sprouts using UH’s Ocean Nutrient Solution which will provide over 90 trace minerals to obtain medicinal grade food.

Avoid meat, fish, eggs and all processed foods and drinks. Try to avoid supplements, especially those that are made with isolated molecules even if they are derived from natural sources.

There are food products that Americans consume everyday that are slowly deteriorating their health. They are: refined table salt, supermarket oils (all processed hydrogenated oils), coffee and tea, all meat, fish, poultry, eggs, processed white flour products, can foods, TV dinners and frozen foods. Avoid any food that has been prepared three hours before consumption.

Highly processed supermarket oils are the cause of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart and circulation problems. Common table salt that has all the trace minerals removed is potentially a poison (four or more tablespoons consumed at once will result in stupefaction and perhaps death). White sugar consumption causes bone loss, high blood pressure and diabetes. Beware of the denatured food you eat.

Relaxation

The best forms of relaxation besides meditation, deep breathing and yoga practice is relaxing tub baths.

Soaking in the bath with appropriate essential oils (UH’s Relaxing/Serenity Synergy Blend) and bath salt (UH’s Relaxing Bath Salts). This can be followed by a soothing aromatherapy wrap using UH’s Relaxing/Serenity Synergy Blend sprayed on a cloth. The mind and the senses become quieted by the therapeutic action of the water and oils.

Before bed, take one to three tablespoons of UH’s Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate which is rich with natural Melatonin for deep sleep.
