Mineral Rich Sea Salt and Sea Veggies
A perfect alternative to common table salt
Uncle Harry’s Mineral Rich Whole Sea Salt & Sea Veggies combines the benefits of natural mineral salt with the superfoods kelp and dulse.
Uncle Harry’s Mineral Rich Whole Sea Salt & Sea Veggies is a revolutionary table seasoning, a perfect alternative to the common processed table salt available in all supermarkets and grocery stores. It is an optimal blending of natural occurring nutrients and minerals from the “gifts of the sea”: sea salt and sea vegetables such as dulse and kelp.
Mineral Salt vs. Table Salt
Common table salt is extracted from seawater, which can contain harmful pollutants and toxins. This sea salt is then heated, refined, and processed, whereby all of its original mineral properties are stripped. Iodine, which occurs naturally in sea salt, is lost in the processing and re-added artificially to table salt. Additives, preservatives, and chemicals might be added to ensure a smooth consistency and a white color. In addition, aluminum is often used as an anti-caking agent for table salt and may be adverse in some individuals. Aluminum has also been implicated in promoting Alzheimer’s disease.
The anti-caking agent in table salt prevents it from dissolving in water and fluids within our bodies, resulting in a build-up and formation of salt deposits in our organs and tissues. This can cause severe health problems and high blood pressure, as our bodies are not equipped to handle large amounts of sodium. Healthy individuals can tolerate some excess sodium if it is in a naturally occurring form that our bodies can readily use or excrete. Predictably, the average American who uses refined salt is overdosed on sodium, consuming between 5000 and 6000 mg of sodium per day with the RDA being less than 2400 mg per day.
Uncle Harry’s Mineral Rich Sea Salt & Sea Veggies is a whole nutrient-rich food in its original natural state and is a natural alternative to table salt. The mineral salt present in Uncle Harry’s Mineral Rich Whole Salt & Sea Veggies is mined from a huge mineral rock salt deposit left by an ancient sea in Utah. Approximately 150 million years ago, this super-saturated body of seawater congealed to leave behind some of the purest mineral salt on the face of the earth. The natural minerals in that ancient sea were captured within the crystallization of the salt. The mineral salt is absolutely toxic and pollutant free and is slightly pink with little specks of red, gray, and black. The tints of color are due to its content of over 30 natural trace minerals in addition to the salt! Mineral salt is free of anything harmful, as it is mined in its natural state, without processing or heating and has nothing added or removed.

Kelp
Laminaria digitata - Also called sea weed or bladderwrack
Properties: Alterative, anti-rheumatic, demulcent, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, mucilant, nutritive, stimulant, tonic.
Nature’s super-food, Laminaria, better known as kelp, is one of the most nutrient-rich aquatic plants known to man. For centuries, kelp has been used as a remedy for respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and glandular disorders and has a beneficial effect on many disorders of the body.
It is exceptionally high in all major minerals, particularly iodine, bromine, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and iron, is rich in trace minerals such as manganese, copper, zinc, and chromium. It even contains a high amount of fiber and a small amount of lecithin. Recent scientific researched has demonstrated kelp as a major source of vitamin C, alginic acid, alginates, and their organic salts, especially sodium alginate. Vitamin C is one of the antioxidant that helps to boost the immune system. Algin is helpful in eliminating intestinal toxins and heavy metals. It is rich in B-complex vitamins in addition to vitamins A and E. It also contains anti-hemorrhage vitamin K.
The combination of minerals, especially the healthy amount of iodine, found in kelp is beneficial for the thyroid gland. Iodine is needed by the thyroid, which is vital to the body as it regulates many important functions in the body, such as the endocrine system and metabolism. Kelp has the reputation of speeding up the burning of excess calories by influencing the body’s metabolism and is helpful in the nourishment of the body with its ability to stimulate metabolism. Underactive or overactive malfunction of the thyroid can result in obesity and the formation of firm masses, such as tumors, enlarged thyroids, lymph node enlargement, swollen and painful testes and reduces edema. In fact, clinical studies prove that daily intake of kelp reduces genito-urinary tract problems originating in the kidney, bladder, uterus, or prostates. It is used in Asian remedies for treatment of enlarged prostates and urination disorders.
Due to its unique ingredients acquired from the rich supply of nutrients from the sea, kelp has the buffering ability to neutralize wastes from the body, causing fluids to be more easily discharged from the body.
Kelp helps to soothe an irritated throat, coughs, and mucous membranes. It has also been shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
A study published in the Japanese Journal of Experimental Medicine, indicates that Kelp reduces the incidence of chemical carcinogen-induced tumors. Other studies have shown a direct relationship between the ingestion of the Algin contained in kelp and the prevention of breast cancer. A study by Dr Jane Teas determined that Japanese women have only about one-sixth the breast cancer rate of American women of similar age and economic status. Teas even noted a much lower breast cancer rate in rural Japanese women than in Japanese women who lived in urban areas of the country which she attributed to a difference in diet. Rural Japanese women eat seaweed as a staple in their diets, a food uncommon in the diets of American and urban Japanese women, who traditionally eat many processed foods. Teas laboratory observations confirmed her findings to be accurate: rats who were exposed to chemicals known to cause breast cancer and who were then fed sea Kelp’s anti-carcinogen properties are attributed to both a mechanical (due to the fiber content of kelp) and biochemical action which enhances the functioning of the immune system, allowing it to indirectly combat cancer. In 1968, studies published by the Canadian Medical Association Journal, showed kelp appeared to be a polysaccharide substance that is able to selectively bind radioactive substances and remove them from the body.
Dulse
Palmaria palmata
Dulse is a red seaweed that is commonly used in Ireland and Atlantic Canada both as a food and medicine.
It is a good source of dietary requirements. A handful will provide more than 100% of the daily amount of Vitamin B6, 66% of Vitamin B12, a days supply of iron, and it is relatively low in sodium and high in potassium. Similar in nutritional benefits to kelp, it is a complete and balanced source of essential minerals and trace minerals.
