Directions for Applying Uncle Harry’s Henna

You need:

A hair brush – comb – plastic glove – Henna powder of your choice – plastic shower cap – large bowl – spoon – hair dryer (not necessary) – Uncle Harry’s Aromatherapy Shampoo and All-Natural Conditioner.

Preparation:

Pour the required amount of henna powder in your bowl. Slowly add very hot water and mix until you obtain a smooth paste. Let the paste cool: when it is lukewarm, it is ready to apply.

How to measure:

For thin short hair use about 5 heaping teaspoons of powder (2/3 box); for thin shoulder length hair, 8 heaping teaspoons of powder. For thick shoulder length, 16 heaping spoonfuls of powder (2 boxes); for very long or thick hair, more than 2 boxes may be necessary.

Application:

First shampoo hair, then dry. Put on gloves and apply the henna paste over a sink or in the bathtub. Start application at the crown of the head, and work in the paste especially at the roots. Once the roots are covered uniformly, work the paste in along the hair length from the roots to the tips: as each section of hair is covered, bunch it on the crown of your head. After all the sections of hair are placed on top of head, continue to massage the paste into the hair for about five minutes. Massage up from the base of your head to the top until your hair is evenly covered. Cleanse Uncle Harry’s Henna from exposed skin area (forehead, ears, neck, etc.)

Caution:

For first time users, apply henna on a small patch of hair to test the color result. If you are satisfied with the result, then proceed to color all your hair. Do not use in the area of the eyes or on cut scalp. Cover hair with a plastic shower cap to conserve the natural heat. You can quicken the drying process and obtain deeper color results by using a hair dryer. The suggested drying time for all henna color mixes is 2 hours. If you use a hair dryer it reduces the time to 1 hour. However, the longer henna remains in contact with hair, the better the result. Unwrap hair and rinse with warm water to remove all the dry powder. Shampoo with Uncle Harry’s Aromatherapy Shampoo and finish with Uncle Harry’s Hair Conditioner Spray. The conditioner fixes the hair color onto your hair and detangles hair for easy combing.
