          Uncle Harry's Helio Carrot Root oil is extracted by a remarkable new technology called Co2 extraction. Under high pressure (73 bars) and moderate temperature (31° C) Co2 gas has the ability to dissolve different organic substances. There are many advantages to this method over steam distillation.

          Co2 extraction is a method free of chemical solvents which produces a very pure extract. All heavy metals and inorganic substances are isolated and removed and thus do not enter the plant oil. Polar substances are also not extracted and there is no chance of these substances forming polymers. There is no degradation of the oil due to heat as there is in steam distillation at atmospheric pressure. This results in an oil which is a truer representation of the properties of the original plant. Unlike steam distilled essential oils, Co2 extracted oils retain the medicinal elements of the plant, do not contain any water or bacteria. The distinctive advantage of Co2 extracted oil is its resistance to bacterial contamination which is conducive to a longer shelf life.

          There are two types of Co2 extracts: Co2 Selects and Co2 Totals. The Co2 Select contains only volatile soluble organic materials using low pressure. These extracts are similar to essential oils obtained from steam distillation except for they do not use heat in the extraction process. The resulting oil contains more active ingredients of the original plant material then steam distillation. The Co2 Totals are the most authentic extractions of the organic materials in the original plant. These extractions contain the waxes, resins, and coloring pigments of the plant without any trace of a solvent.

          This Helio Carrot Root oil is a Co2 extract of dried carrot roots in a base of jojoba oil with a ratio of ten pounds of dried carrot root for every one pound of jojoba oil. This oil contains Beta Carotene (Vitamin A precursor), Vitamins A, and E. It is excellent for hair and especially for skincare. Applying Helio Carrot Root oil on skin may dynamically help the body to generate new cells and stimulate sebum production in dry, scaly skin and scalp. Because of the natural Vitamin E content, it is considered an anti-oxidant.

          Uncle Harry strongly recommends this oil for chapped, irritated, and mature, wrinkled skin. He also recommends using this oil at night before sleep for maximum penetration and regeneration. Note: when the oil is first applied, it may leave an orange tint due to the presence of Beta Carotene. This tint will fade as the oil penetrates into the skin.
