Uncle Harry's Guggal
In 1986, Guggal was approved for distribution as a lipid-reducing natural plant-derived extract in India. Research has established that Guggul is more effective than many cholesterol-lowering drugs, including niacin. It lowers cholesterol by improving the liver’s function and increases the liver’s ability to absorb LDL cholesterol from the blood. Guggul is successfully used for circulatory problems related to high cholesterol and triglycerides. Guggul is frequently used to treat arteriosclerosis, arthritic and rheumatic problems, numbness, and impaired circulation. It can also be taken along with other herbs for weight loss, increasing energy, a heart tonic, improving the flexibility of joints, strengthening the bones to offset osteoporosis. It demonstrates the ability to increase white blood cell count and disinfects secretions of mucus, sweat, and urination. It can catalyze tissue regeneration, particularly nerve tissue. It also reduces fat, toxins, tumors, necrotic tissues, and is considered the best herb for arthritic conditions. It can be used to regulate menstruation.
Ayurveda recommends using Guggul with Triphala to accent its ability to detoxify the channels of the body, reduce cholesterol and high blood lipids for weight loss.
