Agave Exfoliating Cloth
In a semi-arid valley North of Mexico City, Otomi women harvest fiber from the tough sinewy agave leaves. A succulent that sends its limbs like tentacles sprawlings up and out in all directions. The fiber is extracted carefully by hand in a centuries old process of pounding and scraping until the soft inner threads are exposed. When the Spanish chronicled their first encounter with this cloth they were amazed at its versatility and strenght: from embroidery to shelter to drink for the gods. Now it comes to you in the form of exfoliating cloths to smooth th skin and rejuvinate circulation.
The tough outer covering of the agave thread has the perfect texture to naturally cleanse the body. The mitt, scrubber and agave cloth are handspun then handwoven, knitted or crocheted in various shapes to suit your total bathing needs.
Care Instructions:
Agave products have a natural tendency to shrink and curl when wet; wring out the moisture and stretch to dry in between use. This will allow the fibers to return to their original shapes as well as to ensure longevity.
